Germany Anja Wedell started out in physical production working with directors like Jean Jacques Annaud, Paul Greengrass or the Wachowskis before making the move to producing. After some years as a Production Executive at X-Filme Creative Pool, mainly working on the company’s international co-productions such as A HOLOGRAM FOR THE KING or BRIMSTONE, she joined CZAR Film Germany in 2015 to head the newly formed fiction department. First films were BIKINI MOON by Oscar nominee Milcho Manchevski and NEW MONEY by Jason B. Kohl. In 2020 NAKED ANIMALS by Melanie Waelde premiered at Berlinale in the Encounters Competition and went on to win best debut feature by the German Film Critics Association. Anja is an alumnus of the Transatlantic Partners program of EPI as well as a member of the European Film Academy.
